Walk-in and Appointment Policy
Black Hawk Health Center actively encourages every patient to schedule
an appointment for every episode of care. Walk-ins are discouraged, and
patients in need of urgent care are asked to call ahead for an appointe
even if they are able to give only minimal notice of their impending
arrival.
You must already have an established chart to use the walk-in clinic except in the case of an emergency visit.
Regular diabetic visits, routine health visits, immunizations, all
physicals, and refills for pain, regular medications, behavioral health
medications, or papers for the physician to complete, you must make an
appointment. These visits will not be done on a walk in basis.
If you have a health problem other than those listed above, the nurse
will triage you to determine if you have an acute illness that needs to
be addressed taht day, or if you need to make a future appointment.
When you come as a walk-in, you will be treated for only your immediate
health problem. A limited amount of time has been set aside for walk-in
patients in each doctor's scheduled day.
